SOUTH TEXAS AAU LT. GOVERNOR TO APPEAR ON ESPN RADIO EVERY SUNDAY TO PROMOTE AAU SPORTS
Lake Buena Vista: The South Texas AAU Lt. Gov. Rod (Chico) Tanner, is shaking up SouthTexas AAU Sports with a multitude of additional programs for our South Texas AAU athletes. In addition to piloting South Texas AAU soccer and football, as well as a long time volunteer for track and field, Lt. Gov. Tanner will now be heard on ESPN Radio every Sunday in May, raising awareness about South Texas AAU Sports.
Tanner will join ESPNs (Laying Down the Law) with Steve Foster. The AAU segment will highlight AAU sports in South Texas as well as national events sanctioned in the South Texas area, including: soccer, football, golf, Chinese martial arts, and the 6th Annual South Texas AAU Sports Festival. Steve Foster is a practicing attorney and former Princeton running back. He was a graduate assistant coach on Nebraskas 1994 National Championship team.
Also joining Steve and Rod is former NFL quarterback Jeff Blake. Blake finished seventh in the 1991 Heisman Trophy voting while leading East Carolina to an 11 and 1 record and the 9th ranking at season end. He was inducted into the East Carolina Hall of Fame in 2007. Blakes best seasons came with Cincinnati in the mid-to-late 1990s (when he was often referred to as (Shake-N-Blake) by local media and fans.
